Shandong defined as home to largest Chinese dictionary museum
Shandong is now home to the world's largest Chinese dictionary museum, thanks to Hebei-born retiree Wang Yingyu, who has moved his record-breaking collection from Sanhe City to Yantai Library, according to news.cn on June 19.
Wang holds the Guinness World Records for the largest collection of Chinese dictionaries, a hobby he developed almost half a century ago, resulting in a total stash of nearly 4,000.
A former worker from the Heilongjiang branch of China National Petroleum Corporation, he set up his first museum in Heibei province in 2012.
The new museum was established in May with the help of the local library.
